Five student athletes from New Rockford-Sheyenne participated in the Region 6 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship held in Valley City, N.D. on February 27. All participants that shot free throws were from District's that are in Region #6. All age group winners from those District's shot a total of 25 free throws. Several times this week Jimmy Indergaard enjoyed supper at the Andy and Ruth Braaten home. Wednesday he enjoyed supper with his uncle Mervin Indergaard and Vicki Magill. Jeff and Denise Labrensz are back home after spending a week in Mesa, Ariz., at the Fountain of the Sun (gated community) with Denise's sister Debbie and her husband Kent. Wednesday evening, they attended a concert of a steel guitar player (87 years old) who used to be with Merle Haggard and a 35-year-old very talented piano player at the community center there. On Tuesday, 2-22-22, Charlotte Simon and a group of friends gathered at Harriman’s in Maddock to help Rachel Markestad celebrate her birthday. Charlotte traveled to Grand Forks and spent Thursday and Friday with Max and Elin Thompson while mom, Heidi and Dad, Carson were at work and there was no school. After recent discussion, District’s 7 and 8 have chosen to combine, and become Super-Region 4 for girl’ and boys’ basketball and volleyball.
