Saturday morning, community members met at the Sheyenne Senior Center for a GRIT meeting. The next meeting will be held on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2 p.m. at the center. Community members are encouraged to attend. Sunday, Susan Burgstahler, Minneapolis, and Jan Loe took Kathy Knatterud out for lunch at the Maddock school. Friday afternoon, Patti Clifton kept an appointment at Carrington Health Center and then did a little shopping. On August 10, Rance and Jena Brown and son Rowan left Sheyenne and headed to Stanton to visit with Rance's family. They also visited friends in the Stanton area. Jeff and Denise Labrensz spent the weekend in Wahpeton. Jeff attended a wood carving class at NDSCS both Saturday and Sunday while Denise took a drive on Saturday out to the church she attended growing up and where they were married. Jeff and Denise Labrensz are back home after spending a week in Mesa, Ariz., at the Fountain of the Sun (gated community) with Denise's sister Debbie and her husband Kent. Wednesday evening, they attended a concert of a steel guitar player (87 years old) who used to be with Merle Haggard and a 35-year-old very talented piano player at the community center there.
