Rockets defeated by Lady Indians

Dani Bjerke on defense against Four Winds-Minnewaukan guard, Myona Dauphinais. Bjerke held the most points for the Rockets while Dauphinais held the most points for the Lady Indians.

The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets knew the game against the Lady Indians of Four Winds-Minnewaukan was going to be a tough one.

Dani Bjerke started off the game strong with a three pointer and a field goal. Myona Dauphinais of the Lady Indians was on her game and put up three field goals and a three-pointer right out of the gates. With Dauphinais' baskets, the Lady Indians were ahead of the Rockets by 8 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Bjerke came back with another three pointer and three field goals. But that still wasn't enough for the Rockets to pull ahead. The Lady Indians kept ahead by 8 in the second quarter.

By the end of the third quarter the Lady Indians had a 12 point lead on the Rockets. Along with Dauphinais, Mahpiya Jackson put in two field goals to assist in the 12 point lead.

Bjerke held the top score of 23 total points. Kaiya O'Connor, Chloe Heinz and Kelsie Belquist all brought in 4 points each. Kennedy Demester and Mya Cudworth each had 2 points.

Myona Dauphinais was the top scorer of the Lady Indians with 34 points. Jackson also hit double figures with 10 points. Other scorers for the Lady Indians were Ezura Rainbow with 8 points and Mallory Yankton with 4 points.

The Lady Indians are currently sitting in first for District 7 while the Rockets are sitting in fifth.
