Belquist sets several records

Dylan Belquist, grandson of Jim and Judy Belquist of New Rockford, is a 6'7" senior guard/forward who plays for Los Gatos High School near San Jose, Calif. This year, Belquist was named to the San Francisco/San Jose All Bay Area Basketball First Team.

Belquist finished the season averaging 26.1 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals per game. He scored 2,033 points in his varsity career.

The Los Gatos team made history by winning the first Central Coast Section boys basketball title in school history. They also won their first ever regional playoff game.

The University of San Francisco-bound athlete broke several school records this season. Belquist's record for most points in a game is 47, which broke his own record of 44, set on Nov. 25, 2017. The prior record was 43 and was set in 1983-84 season. The prior record for most points in a season was 577, which was set in the 1996-97 season. Belquist smashed that record and set his own of 756. Other records include 18 field goals in a game, 22 free throws in a game 264 field goals in a season.

Belquist was also named MVP of his 24-team conference.
