Rocket girls topple Warriors

New Rockford-Sheyenne played a pretty good overall game and defeated Warwick by a final score of 56-45 in District 7 Girls Basketball action played here on Thursday, January 25.

 The Rockets were playing without Lauren Roscoe, who was ill, and also without Kayahna Hopfauf, who was injured in the JV game.  

The Warriors are a very young team overall. At times the game was very physical. The locals led virtually all the way and at all quarter stops, 16-9 , 34-19, 40-28.

Hannah Haley paced the Rockets with a game high 28 points, including 6 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter. Carli Lies added 12 points. Shaylynn DeMarrias led Warwick with 14 points.  

Warwick made 18 field goals, 6 of 11 free throws, had 14 fouls and committed 20 turnovers.

New Rockford-Sheyenne made 24 field goals, 7 of 10 free throws, 13 fouls and committed 18 turnovers.  

The Rockets finished District 7 play at 1-5 and are now 7-9 overall.
