  • County approves tax incentives for CenDak fertilizer facility

    Representatives from CenDak appeared before the commission on Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a hearing on their application for property tax incentives. CenDak is building a 60-by-100 foot structure that will house a 2,200 ton fertilizer plant with 2-16 ton blenders on the south side. The facility will be built on land near the New Rockford Municipal Airport.     Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies reported Tuesday that individuals within the community are receiving calls from others claiming to work for the Social Security Administration and reporting there is fraud on individual accounts. The number they are calling from has been “spoofed” to look like the call is coming from the Social Security Administration.     North Dakota State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler said the results of North Dakota’s annual exams for English and mathematics will include new information to help students improve their learning, and assist parents in evaluating the academic progress of their children. In North Dakota alone, 21 percent of high school students currently identify as a vaping product user (ND Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 2017).
