  • Midkota Mustangs top Rockets

    The game was quite close most of the way as Midkota defeated New Rockford-Sheyenne by a final score of 53-45 in non-district Girls Basketball action played at Glenfield on Monday, January 29. Overall, it was a hard fought game, and at times quite physical.   Midkota is a pretty young team and could be quite good the next few years. The Mustangs led virtually all the way and at all quarter stops, 16-11, 26-21, 42-33. Joslyn Hoyt paced Midkota with a game high 24 points, Jakenda Short added 15 points. Hannah Haley led the Rockets with 21 points....

  • Doubleheader ends in losses for Rockets

    New Rockford hosted Langdon-Edmore Munich for a doubleheader of boys and girls basketball action on Saturday, January 27. In the girls game, New Rockford -Sheyenne had a bad first quarter and just never recovered although they never quit. Langdon- Area- Edmore- Munich defeated the locals by a final score of 68-44 before a pretty good crowd. Before the game, Lauren Roscoe, the Rockets only senior, was presented with a game ball signed by the team. The Cardinals are a very good team and well coached. They are one of the top teams in Region 4....

  • Locals finish first at Park District tourney

    The New Rockford Park District hosted a youth basketball tournament at the high school gym on Sunday, January 28. A group of six fifth and sixth grade girls finished as champions of the fifth grade girls' division. The girls played four games, ending with a record of 3-1, good enough for the championship.
