    Overall, this was a very physical game. The big difference in this game was the third quarter as New Rockford-Sheyenne defeated North Star by a final score of 65-57 in non-district Boys Basketball action played here on Thursday, January 18. North Star is a pretty young team similar to the Rockets. New Rockford-Sheyenne led most of the way and at all quarter stops 14-12, 30-22, 56-43, and again the Rockets came through with a hard fought 65-57 win.     The first three quarters were quite close, but Benson County pulled away in the fourth and defeated New Rockford-Sheyenne by a final score of 58-43 in District 7 Girls Basketball action played at Maddock on Friday, January 19. The Rockets had some costly turnovers and got into some foul trouble. Benson County led all the way and at all quarter stops 13-9, 28-23, 38-29 and defeated the locals by a final of 58-43.     Five girls and six boys from New Rockford ages 9 to 14 were named local champions of the 2018 New Rockford Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. Knights of Columbus Local Council #2477 in New Rockford sponsored the competition at the New Rockford High School Gymnasium on Sunday, Jan. 21 All youngsters ages 9-14 were eligible to participate.
