Marjorie Lovelien, 87, Minot, N.D., died Saturday, April 13, 2024, in her home.

Marjorie was born Dec. 29, 1936, in New Rockford, N.D. to Joseph and Marie (Irmen) Lill. She attended and graduated from St. James Catholic School in New Rockford.

She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 6, 1955. She served honorably until her discharge from active duty on Dec. 16, 1957.

Marjorie was once married to Richard "Scott" Fox. They served in the military and were stationed throughout the country with their assignments. They were blessed with the birth of three children.

Marjorie returned to North Dakota and enrolled at Minot State University in 1968. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in business administration in 1973. She found employment in the office at Krebsbach's Implement Dealership in Minot. She also worked at Target in addition to her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Marjorie was united in marriage to Orlyn O. Lovelien on Dec. 2, 1977 in Minot. They would make "Magic City" their lifelong home and see their family grow as they took on new roles as grandparents and great-grandparents.

Marjorie was a faithful member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church in Minot. Marjorie enjoyed time spent in the garden, was the family's "on staff" amateur photographer and was forever partial to the color purple. She will be remembered for her love of peanuts, Snoopy, bingo and bus road trips to places in the lower 48 states.

Family will be her legacy. She adored each and every member of it. She was proud of their accomplishments and will be forever present in our memories.

Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Orlyn Lovelien, Minot; daughters Darlene Oja and Charlene Fox, both Minot; grandchildren Jessica (Michael) Krout, Minot, Hope (Jeremiah) Trana, Granville, N.D., Erica McFarland, Towner, N.D. and Cristin Fox, Bossier City, La.; great-grandchildren Annabelle Collins, Samantha and Adeline Trana and Christopher and Kinsley McFarland; brother Robert (Marilyn) Lill, Cathay, N.D.; sister Marsha Bauley, Valley City, N.D.; brother-in-law Stan Przybycien, Williston, N.D. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard Fox Jr., son-in-law Melvin Oja and sister Theresa Przybycien.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Vigil Prayer Service: 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, N.D.

Visitation: Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
