Mason was born on March 31, 2004, in Jamestown, N.D. to Jean and John Schuster – he was a miracle from the beginning as he was a rainbow baby. Mason went to school at New Rockford-Sheyenne until 2020 when he and his younger brother, Mathew, transferred to Carrington High School where he finished out his education and graduated in May of 2022. Throughout school, Mason was a frequent bowler as he participated in bowling for over 10 years. He was also a member of 4-H and took part in many different sports throughout his life including baseball, basketball, football, golf and wrestling.

Mason enjoyed many extracurricular activities including hunting absolutely anything, fishing, working, playing with his dog Moose and spending time with his many friends and family. He was currently working alongside his great uncle Kim for his septic business, which Mason thoroughly enjoyed – including all of the shit that came with it.

Mason was a kind, hardworking, caring, stubborn, yet unbelievably funny young man. He never failed to make people smile and let them know how much they meant to him, no matter what. Family and friends meant everything to Mason, and he will continue to watch over all of us and continue spreading his love.

Mason is survived by his parents, John and Jean, his sisters and brother, Haley (Jon) Gillis, Ashley (Wilson Howard), and Mathew; his grandparents, Pete Lies, Sandi Lies, Paul and Leona Schuster, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and girlfriend, Hadley Hegland.

Mason was preceded in death by his uncle Raymond Lies; uncle Fred Schuster; aunt Lisa Schuster; cousins Cayler Ellingson and Andrew Schwab; great-grandparents, cousins and other relatives.
