Post #30 takes 2-3 loss to Wolves at Steele

On Monday, July 11, New Rockford Post #30 ended their regular season with victory, defeating the Ashley/Linton/Wishek Rattlers 5-0 at home in their last regular-season match of the summer.
Post #30 did most of their damage early, scoring four runs in the first two innings, before adding an insurance run in the fifth.
From the batter's box, Connor Knatterud and Keaton Cudworth were particularly effective; together they accounted for four of New Rockford's five runs. Luke Yri also enjoyed a good day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with one run scored.
The real star of the show, however, was starting pitcher Alex Harrison.
Harrison pitched all seven innings for the Black Sox, striking out 10 batters, allowing just three walks, and ultimately earning a three-hit shutout.
He also shined on offense, going 1-for-2 with one walk and two runs scored.
Meanwhile, the New Rockford defense, which has managed to spoil similarly strong outings in the past, only committed one error Monday night.
The combination of competent defense, excellent pitching and strong offense was more than enough to thwart the opposing team, who took the long ride home after a tough defeat at the hands of Post #30, who they'd just beaten as recently as June 28.
For New Rockford, it was their third win in their last four games. The only loss came to Kidder County on July 8, who managed to come back from an early deficit to snatch the win in walk off fashion.
Post #30 closes the regular season with a 6-8 overall record, and will enter the regional tournament with the wind at their backs.
