The Babe Ruth team had a good day on July 9 in New Rockford taking two games against Turtle Mountain. NR-S was able to win both games by the 10-run rule in five innings. Both games counted toward the district standings.
Connor Knatterud got the start at pitcher in the first game, and pitched four scoreless innings. Braeden Grant started the game in a losing effort for the Braves.
The Sox started off the scoring in the third inning, scoring five runs. Connor Knatterud, Luke Yri, Alex Weisenburger, Brody Weisenburger and DJ Mudgett all scored in the inning. Jackson Schumacher had a big 2 RBI single with two outs.
NR-S added four more runs in the fourth. Alex Weisenburger came in to pitch in the top of the fifth and was able to induce a double play to end the inning and keep Turtle Mountain scoreless.
Turtle Mountain was forced to put in an inexperienced pitcher in the bottom of the fifth. The Sox were able to score the winning tenth run on a balk by the pitcher.

Turtle Mountain was the designated home team in the second game. NR-S got the scoring started in the first inning. The Sox added six more runs in the third to jump out to a 7-0 lead. The big hit in the inning came with two outs and bases loaded, when Bradyn Collier cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double.
The Braves scored a single run in the bottom of the third on a wild pitch. The Sox added on with runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 12-1 lead. Alex Weisenburger again came in to pitch the final inning. Despite Turtle Mountain scoring a run in the final inning, the Sox were able to hang on for the win.
With the wins, NR-S finished the season at 6-6 in District 2, and 8-6 overall, earning the #3 seed in the tournament.
