Two New Rockford-Sheyenne basketball teams headed to Jamestown on Sunday, March 21 for the 2021 Jamestown Spring Shootout. A total of 119 teams in grades three to eight competed in this tournament. Both Rockets teams competed in the eighth grade division.
The Rockets girls team started off the day playing against the Hot Shots of Midkota. The Rockets won 31-21. The second game was against the Grand Forks Flash. The Rockets lost 19-46. The Rockets played their final game against the Nelson County Chargers. The Rockets defeated the Chargers 29-25, and received third place in the Jamestown Spring Shootout.
The Rockets boys team played the Jamestown Blue Jays in the first round of the tournament. The Rockets defeated the Blue Jays 39-24. The Rockets then moved on to play the East Grand Forks YBA and were defeated 32-40. The Rockets final game of the day was against the Jamestown Blue. The Jamestown Blue defeated the Rockets 51-30. The Rockets boys team received fourth place.
