Black Sox dominate against Harvey

Cal Ripken

On Friday, July 15, the Cal Ripken Black Sox faced off against Harvey for an afternoon showdown in New Rockford. Both teams seemed to be fired up, but it was the Sox that got off to an amazing start.

In the first inning, the Black Sox started the game strong with four runs. The succession of scoring began with Skye Kramlich and Thomas Allmaras followed by Alex Weisenburger and Dashyl Bichler.

Harvey managed to score as well, but only once, giving the Sox a three-run lead at the end of the first inning. In the second inning, the Black Sox continued to dominate as they scored another run by Dustin Nystrom and played extremely well in the field, preventing two runs at home plate with last-second tag outs. In the third inning, the scoring continued as Wiesenberger was once again able to get to home plate with his second run of the day.

Harvey was able to get going with two runs of their own at the bottom of the third inning. However, the Black Sox dominated once more in the fourth inning as they brought in four more runs by Maliki Kukowski, Nystrom, Kramlich and Allmaras.

In the final minutes, Harvey scored one last run, but the Black Sox came out on top 10-4.

The leading scorers were Dustin, Alex W., Skye K., and Thomas A. with two runs each.
