Eddy County Sheriff's Update for January

Joseph Valles of Devils Lake was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, on Nov. 30 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He pleaded guilty to the charge in court on Jan. 10. Judge Hovey sentenced Valles to 10 days in jail, all suspended, and ordered him to pay $750 in fines and fees. He is also subject to 360 days of unsupervised probation.

Melissa A. Denne of St. Michael was arrested on Nov. 20 and charged with driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana. She was released on a recognizance bond on Nov. 26, then failed to appear in court on Dec. 13. A bench warrant has been issued for her arrest. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Denne should contact the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office at (701) 947-5515.

Bench warrants have also been issued for the following accused who failed to appear in court on Jan. 10: Myron Harrison of Ft. Totten, Dawson Dubois of Ft. Totten, and David Guy of Devils Lake.

William D. Abrahamson, Jr. faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a Dec. 16, 2018 incident. He did not enter a plea to the charges at his initial appearance on Jan. 10. He is due in court for a pre-trial conference on March 14.

Lisa J. Chenze is due in court on Feb. 14 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities allege that Chenze was stopped in Eddy County for failure to keep her vehicle in the lane of travel, and a search of her vehicle yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Channe J. Woodcock of Jamestown pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of violating a driver’s license restriction for failure to maintain liability insurance. Judge Hovey sentenced her to 360 days of unsupervised probation and ordered her to pay $275 in fines and fees.

On Jan. 10 Ronald E. Williams II, formerly of New Rockford, was found in contempt of court for failure to comply with orders stemming from a 2017 criminal case. According to the order, Williams will serve 2 days in jail as a remedial sanction, which can be purged by paying $50 a month towards his fines and fees. He owes over $1,800. He was also ordered to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and enter recommended treatment.

Thomas J. Moore of Corsicana, Texas pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance (hashish), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 10. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Oct. 20, 2018. According to the criminal complaint, Moore was stopped for speeding when officers found he was in possession of the aforementioned substances and a vaporizer pipe used to ingest them. Moore was ordered to pay $1,550 in fines and fees and be subject to UA testing in his home state of Texas every three weeks over the next 12 months.

Shannon Riggle faces a disorderly conduct charge after she was arrested on Oct. 28, 2018. She pleaded not guilty to the charge, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for Feb. 14.

Robert Morris of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., reached a plea agreement with authorities in an October unlawful hunting case. Morris was cited for hunting without a license in Eddy County on Oct. 22, 2018. He initially pleaded not guilty to the charge, but later amended his plea for a deferred sentence. Morris paid a $500 fine and $225 in court fees in the deferral.

Taten C. Haar of Herreid, S.D., pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, one each for marijuana and methamphetamines. He was cited on Nov. 10; his pre-trial conference is March 14.

Jason Vetsch of Bismarck faces charges of driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited by Eddy County authorities on Dec. 17, 2018. His initial appearance is set for Feb. 14.

Lorenda R. Greybear of Ft. Totten was arrested for driving with a suspended license on Dec. 19, 2018. She posted $500 cash boned and pleaded not guilty to the charge on Jan. 10. She is due in court for a pre-trial conference on March 14.
