Jarvis Hegland visited James Nelson on Wednesday. Friday visitors were Devona Gasper of Circle, Mont., and Holly Zieman of Carrington.

Lester Roberts visited James on Sunday. James enjoyed a phone conversation with Don Knutson of Phoenix, Ariz., one day this week. James reported that his brother, Mayo, is doing well following his surgery.

Doris Griffin attended the Timely Topics meeting on Wednesday. Doris also attended the meeting of Friends of Sully’s Hill Store Committee Thursday afternoon. Saturday, found Doris at a meeting of Dakota Prairie Community Action held in Devils Lake.

Tom and Pam Schmid visited Pam’s dad, Bud Hermanson in Hampden on Saturday.

Lester Roberts reports that the Roberts’ had a lot of trick or treaters wearing nice costumes and they also had good manners. Bob Hoffart and Lezlee Thorson stopped by Lester and Jackie’s on Saturday. Roger was also a Saturday visitor and stayed to watch the football game. Lester visited James Nelson on Sunday. Also on Sunday, Chad Getscher stopped in for a visit.

Last Sunday, Randy and Charlotte Simon attended the Harvest of Thanks at St. Williams Catholic Church in Maddock. Following services, Charlotte traveled to Grand Forks and spent Sunday night with Heidi, Carson, Elin and Max Thompson. She returned home on Monday. Wednesday, Charlotte visited her mother, Joan Bosch, at the Care Center in Rugby. She then drove on to Minot to do some shopping. Grandpa and Grandma Simon attended Easton Simon’s basketball game-Maddock vs. Minnewaukan in Maddock on Thursday. Minnewaukan won.

Saturday, it was more basketball to cheer Easton and his team on at the Fort Totten Basketball Jamboree. Maddock played five games and won four of them. The team ended up in fifth place. Congratulations to Easton and his team. Following the Jamboree, Randy and Charlotte went on to Devils Lake and visited Melodee and Terry Thompson. The Thompsons and Simons share grandchildren, Elin and Max, children of Carson and Heidi Thompson. Elin and Max were at the Thompson home. On their way home to Oberon, the Simons stopped at Todd and Nadley Buehler’s home to bring birthday wishes to Todd. Sunday, Randy and Charlotte enjoyed the North Viking Lutheran Church fall dinner. Charlotte brought early birthday greetings to Doris Ambers at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford on Sunday afternoon. Doris’ birthday is Nov. 12.

Amanda, Jake, Fallyn and Piper Hegland were dinner guests at Jarvis and Patty Hegland’s home on Friday. Special guests were Jarvis’s sisters, Devona Gasper of Circle, Mont., and Holly Zieman of Carrington. Saturday, Jake, Amanda and the girls traveled to Fargo. Jake and Fallyn attended the Bison football game. The Heglands were guests of Mike and Jill Zietz Saturday night. On their way home on Sunday, Jake, Amanda and the girls met Amanda’s brother, Ryder Wieschedel for lunch in Jamestown.

Thursday, Dave and Linda Madson kept medical appointments in Devils Lake. Friday, the Madsons traveled to Grand Forks where Dave kept a medical appointment. Linda accompanied Melodie, Kennedee and McKenzee Madson to the girls’ Tae Kwon Do testing on Saturday. The girls received their yellow belt. 

Kinley Poulsen was a Saturday visitor at the Madsons. Kinley, Melodie, McKenzee and Carrie Madson and Linda enjoyed lunch together at a Devils Lake restaurant.

Lee and Amy Simon, Easton and Jaxon visited Todd and Nadley Buehler Wednesday evening. Breana and Elisa Buehler and Joe Wentz of Bismarck, Hunter Buehler of Fargo NDSU and Michael Pacheco and Mavis of Watford City visited the Buehler farm over the weekend to help Todd celebrate his birthday. Beau and Bria Buehler also joined the family Friday and Saturday evenings. The Buehler family took Todd out for birthday supper Saturday evening. Later in the evening, Randy and Charlotte Simon paid a visit to also help Todd celebrate. Happy Birthday, Todd.
