NR-S High School Band to perform at Raging Red Band Festival

Music appreciators are in for a treat at the fifth annual NDSU Raging Red Band Festival on the campus of North Dakota State University on March 6 and 7, 2018.

The organizer of the festival stated, “I am pleased with the success of the Raging Red and the rewards seen by participating students, directors, and band programs. This festival is much more than a performance opportunity. In addition to performing in a magnificent hall, being adjudicated and clinched by nationally known adjudicators, students also gain a wide range of opportunities to hear band, interact with the NDSU faculty and students, and to hear the NDSU Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Warren Olfert.”

The New Rockford High School Band will perform at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7.

This year’s distinguished panel of three adjudicators will hear the students and provide feedback on their musicianship and performance skills.

 • Dr. Deborah Confredo, Professor of Music at Temple University.

 • Col. Timothy Holtan (U.S .Army, ret.), the first conductor in the Armed Services to conduct all three major Army bands.

 • Alfred Watkins (retired), Lassiter High School, Marietta, GA. Mr. Watkins had a highly successful 37-year career teaching music.
