Ava Peterson, runner-up, and Jackson Brazil, county champion, were the two finalists.
Jackson Brazil, a fifth grader at NR-S School, defeated nine of his fellow students in grades 4 - 8 at the Eddy County Geography Bee on Wednesday, January 24 at the Eddy County Courthouse.
Students in each classroom competed against one another earlier in the month to determine which two would represent their class at the county competition.
