The New Rockford-Sheyenne varsity track and field team competed alongside nine other teams at the CNDC Outdoor.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne track and field team has been running to and from track meets this past week. On Thursday, May 4, the Rockets traveled to Rugby to compete in the annual Hanneman Memorial Meet. Both the boys' and girls' teams placed 11th overall at the meet. Top 10 placings for the girls' team came from Lucy Meier, Katie Allmaras and Lora Wobbema.     The New Rockford-Sheyenne junior high team competed at the Central North Dakota Conference (CNDC) Meet in Rugby on Tuesday, May 9. NR-S seventh grader, Jaida Schumacher, paved the way for the Rockets. Schumacher took first place in three individual events, even nipping the CNDC meet records in all three!   • Sheriff clears up confusion surrounding "suspicious community event"

    On Wednesday, May 17, law enforcement were present at the New Rockford-Sheyenne Public School due to what the school described as a "suspicious community event" in a Facebook post. No other details were provided by the school, but Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies cleared up the situation with the Transcript. Lies explained that a weapon was stolen from a vehicle in New Rockford approximately two or three weeks ago, and that they had recently identified two "juveniles of interest" in the theft.... Full story
