Open house scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7
Flickertail Wind, LLC has officially opened an office in New Rockford, aimed at enhancing community engagement for its wind energy project.
The company encourages people to stop in at their open house in their new space on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 4-7 p.m. Their office is located in the New Rockford City Hall.
Lucas Buerkley, a Fargo native and land agent for the company, emphasized the importance of being accessible to local residents.
"We want to be present and available for those who have questions about the project," he said.
Buerkley will be the main contact for Flickertail Wind here in New Rockford and is passionate about creating relationships with the local community.
The office will host "Wind Wednesdays" inviting visitors every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Buerkley encourages community members to stop by.
"We're happy to have anyone swing by and say hello or give me a call and I can always arrange to be there when anyone would like to meet," he said.
Flickertail Wind was brought on by a group of local landowners and aims to positively impact New Rockford and the surrounding areas.
"Our purpose is to ensure this project benefits the community while adhering to all regulations," Buerkley said.
During the upcoming open house, the organization will provide information about the wind project and wind energy in general.
"I hope everyone can find some time to swing by, chat, and ask your questions. We would love to meet as many folks as possible. Also, good luck and stay safe to all the deer hunters this opener!" he said.
Anyone who'd like to contact Buerkley's office can call his work number at (701) 541-4085, or send him an email at [email protected].
An upcoming edition of the Transcript will feature more information about the wind project Flickertail Wind is developing in Eddy County.
