Guler named NDSPE Young Engineer of the Year

Moore Engineering is excited to announce that James Guler, Water Resources project manager, has been named the 2023 North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers (NDSPE) Young Engineer of the Year. This award is a testament to James' outstanding contributions and dedication to the field of engineering. Moore Engineering is grateful to have him on their team and serving their clients.

Young Engineer of the Year Award

Each year, NDSPE recognizes an outstanding young engineer for educational achievements, professional society activities, technical activities, civic and humanitarian activities, continuing competence, engineering achievements and professional experience. The nominee must be a Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer In Training, an NDSPE member and 35 years of age or under on January 1 of the current year. They must first be selected by their chapter, and four candidates then move on to the state level. This award recognizes not only his educational accolades but also his involvement in the NDSPE community.

James' accomplishments

James joined Moore Engineering as a project engineer in 2015. Since then, he has grown in responsibility and technical expertise to become one of Moore Engineering's brightest engineers. He has tackled some of the most complex and publicly-scrutinized projects, including serving as the lead engineer for the Bois de Sioux Watershed District. Through the years he has worked his way up to becoming a Water Resources project manager.

"James is extremely focused on client satisfaction and does the extra mile to make the project a success in the client's eye. He is a leader in the company, setting a standard of excellence in his group." – Kevin Bucholz, President, Moore Engineering.

Giving back

Beyond his professional endeavors, James enjoys serving on several committees within the company and continues to give back to the engineering profession by chairing the local MathCounts for NDSPE Chapter 4. He is engaged in the community through Meals on Wheels, United Way of Caring, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Fraternal Order of Eagles and is an active member in his church.

James exemplifies what a young engineer should be in excellence, focus and character. Moore Engineering is proud to have him on their team and look forward to witnessing his continued growth and success.
