Broasted Chicken Fundraiser April 2

Proceeds will go toward Rockford Theatre rebuild

After heavy snowfall resulted in its collapse back in December of 2022, plans were unveiled late last year for rebuilding the historic Rockford Theatre in downtown New Rockford.

With the only surviving portions of the 100-year-old structure being its iconic Rockford sign and marquee, the plan is to build an entirely new and improved theatre that still retains its history and honors its past.

However, rebuilding the theatre comes with a considerable cost, which is why fundraising efforts are getting underway.

The Rockford Theatre Rebuild Committee has a fundraising goal of $500,000 to help bring the historic structure back to life, and now an upcoming fundraiser has been announced to help reach that goal.

On Tuesday, April 2, the New Rockford Eagles Club is hosting a broasted chicken feed from 5-7 p.m., with all proceeds going toward rebuilding the Rockford Theatre.

Those interested in supporting the local theatre, or who simply want to enjoy some delicious chicken, are encouraged to purchase tickets.

In addition to great food, there will also be fun carnival games for the kids to enjoy, so be sure to bring the whole family for an entertaining evening!

Tickets prices are $20 for a broasted chicken meal and $10 for a chicken strip meal.

Tickets are required and will be sold in advance only. Tickets are available at Bakers Dozen or from Glenda Collier at (701) 302-0023 or Melanie Quinton at (701) 302-0006.

For anyone who can’t make it to the fundraiser on April 2, there are still ways to contribute to rebuilding the historic Rockford Theatre.

Donors can make a tax-deductible donation by sending their contributions to the New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation, 117 1st St S, New Rockford, N.D. 58356 and earmarking it for the Rockford Theatre Benefit.

Donations can also be sent to the Rockford Theatre Benefit Account at Bank Forward, 6 - 8th Street South, New Rockford, N.D. 58356.
