Sheyenne: Jan. 15, 2024

On Jan. 3, Joanna Larson and Michelle Gilley attended the NDSU Extension Round Up in Devils Lake. Joanna and Michelle got a chance to visit about ideas for the community garden and Prairie Dawn Orchard.

Patti Larson and Sandra spent several days last week working on grant applications for 2024. They referenced research material on housing needs that Sandra compiled for a 4-H project back in 2016. Patti and Sandra presented the application material at the Sheyenne City Council meeting Wednesday night.

At the city council meeting, Mayor Bob Hanson signed a Main Street N.D. Proclamation. Last year, Sheyenne was invited to be the 100th Main Street Community recognized by the State. The full proclamation declares Sheyenne’s commitment to growth and renewal, citing volunteer efforts, annual events, activities and markets that happen on Main Street. The closing line reads, “Let this proclamation support the continued success and efforts of our town board, organizations, businesses, and residents in maintaining a vibrant, engaged community.”

On Jan. 4, Patti Larson stopped in to visit Bev Bjornson and Marge Anderson in New Rockford.

Monday, Jan. 8, Jan Loe rode along to Carrington with Patti Clifton. Patti kept appointments at Carrington Health Center. Later, they were joined by Deanna Erickson for noon lunch at Prairie Inn. Patti and Jan made a few shopping stops in Carrington and New Rockford before returning to Sheyenne.
