During halftime of the varsity game against the Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Imperials on Tuesday, January 2, the first and second grade boys' teams took their turn on the court for the first time this season. Gavin Rieger dribbles down the court, with Kaycee Estenson right on his tail. Rieger scored four points and had two steals.
Halftime entertainment is back for New Rockford-Sheyenne girls' and boys' basketball games!
The New Rockford Youth Basketball Association (NBA) is once again allowing youth in grades 1-5 to play during halftime of the junior varsity and varsity basketball games this season.
From now until the last home game on February 15, Rocket fans will get to watch these young ballers get an early start at their basketball careers.
Coming up, the third through fifth grade girls will play on Monday, Jan. 15, and then the first and second grade girls will play on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The third through fifth grade boys will play on Saturday, Jan. 27.
