Sheyenne: Dec. 25, 2023

Peter and Patti Larson traveled to Minneapolis to attend daughter Sandra’s graduation on Dec 14 at the University of Minnesota. Sandra graduated with a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering. She was chosen to deliver the commencement address on behalf of the students of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geoengineering. Sandra kept this a secret from her folks, so they were quite surprised at her speech. Sandra’s cousins Charlotte and Mike Crabtree hosted the Larsons at their home in Minneapolis for a party to celebrate Sandra after the ceremony.

Jan and Steph Loe were in Jamestown last Friday morning.

The ABC’s of Christmas, presented by the children of Sheyenne Oberon Area Ministries at Grace Lutheran Church in Sheyenne on Dec. 17, was well attended. Nearly 20 kids dressed as wisemen, angels, shepherds and readers shared the Christmas message.

On Sunday, Dec. 17, Patti Larson went from the program at Grace Lutheran to watch her great niece and nephews Josslyn, Jakoby, Damien and Owen at Kvernes Lutheran Church’s Sunday School program in rural Carrington. Some of the same nativity props decked the stage that Patti remembers using as a kid. Patti said, “It is great to see active Sunday School programs after a stretch of not enough children.”

Sunday afternoon, First Lutheran Church women distributed 60 plates of cookies to neighbors, spreading Christmas joy and cheer.

Sunday evening, Jan and Steph Loe enjoyed supper in Devils Lake.

Merry Christmas!
