Learning beyond the classroom

The Warwick High School careers class has been learning about heavy equipment and how it works. On Thursday, Sept. 28, the class got to see and experience Iron Hide Equipment in Devils Lake.

The students were allowed to run a mini excavator, as well as many other machines such as payloaders, skid steers and large excavators.

In one activity the whole class participated in, the students were tasked with picking three rings out of orange cones. Whoever could do it the fastest and most accurately was victorious.

Anthony Touche would go on to defeat his fellow classmates and claim victory, and for his troubles he was awarded a small toy excavator.

Among the students who traveled to Iron Hide Equipment in Devils Lake were Isabella Baer, Allen Demarce Jr. , Seth Demarce, Sophia Lenoir, Izaiah Thompson, and Anthony Touche.

The class is taught by Mr. Dean Hagen.
