4-H'ers recognized at Round Up

Eddy County 4-H'ers, leaders and families recognized the accomplishments of the 2022-23 4-H year and looked ahead to the new one at the annual 4-H Round Up on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Held in the pavilion on the Eddy County Fairgrounds, the evening featured a delicious supper, cake and awards presentation.

4-H'ers applied for a variety of special awards, and the awards committee "had their work cut out for them" in choosing the recipients, Eddy County 4-H Council President Shirley Myhre said.

Cordell and Weston Myhre received the Hardest Worker Award sponsored by the Eddy County 4-H Council for their dedication and help even after one of their animals got sick and they weren't able to show their livestock as a result.

Brent Helseth was honored with the 4-H Volunteer of the Year Award sponsored by Eddy County 4-H Council. He has put many hours into helping prepare the grounds for the 4-H Achievement Days, including the installation of pens.

New Rockford Eagles Aerie 2923 was the recipient of the 4-H Community Supporter of the Year Award sponsored by Eddy County 4-H Council. This award is given to a community member who has provided exemplary support to the 4-H program for many years.

A new 4-H year has now begun. All youth age 5-18 on Sept. 1 are welcome to join 4-H. The program offers a wide variety of project areas. To enroll in 4-H, contact the NDSU Extension Eddy County office at (701) 947-2454 or email [email protected].
