Eddy County Achievement Days to be held July 13-14

Next Thursday and Friday, Eddy County 4-H’ers will take over the Eddy County fairgrounds for their annual Achievement Days.

The annual event is where 4-H’ers showcase a wide range of livestock, small animals and static exhibits, and this year it will take place on July 13-14.

Thursday will begin with a livestock check-in at 8 a.m., with static project judging due to start at 2 p.m.

Then it’ll once again be time to enjoy the always-popular vendor show. The “Fine Fairground Vendor Show” will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, showcasing numerous area businesses and their products.

Vendors showcasing their wares include JJ’s Jewels, Cozy Coat Crochet, Rustic Stuff and Treasures, Grammy’s World, Discovery Toys, Crafting Adventures, Wild Wood Art Live Edge, Nikkilee Hartwell’s Tumblers, Mugs and More, Inspired Signals Studio and Anna’s EZ Nails.

Meanwhile, for anyone looking for some good food to enjoy, the Mexican Munchies food vendor will also be running from 3-7 p.m.

And who can forget about the car show! The “Cruise In Car Show” will start shortly after the vendors open on Thursday, beginning at 4 p.m. and running through 7 p.m.

If you’ve got a cool car to show off, be sure to bring it to the Eddy County Fairgrounds by 4 p.m. and sign it up!

Friday’s activities will begin with the livestock show at 10 p.m., under the new pavilion.

The 4-H Buyer and Family Supper will begin later in the day at 5 p.m., with the annual Premium Sale to follow at 6 p.m.

For another exciting activity, kids with animals will decorate their stalls, and the public will get a chance to view each stall and vote for their favorites. The winners will be announced at the Premium Sale.

There will be plenty of fun for everyone, so be sure to bring the whole family down to the Eddy County Fairgrounds on July 13-14 to support our local 4-H’ers!
