Summer Reading Kick-off Thursday

All Together Now! is the theme of this year's Summer Reading Program. This Thursday, June 1, kids are invited to come together at the Summer Reading Kick-off hosted by the Eddy-New Rockford Public Library.

Gather in Centennial Park from 4-5 p.m. Thursday to play fun outdoor games, such as giant Yahtzee, Jenga and Dominos, as well as egg and spoon races. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program that day and check out a book.

Centered around kindness, friendship and unity, this year's theme focuses on coming together no matter our age, socio-economic status, political affiliation or location.

Librarian Susie Sharp invites all youth in grades K and up to participate in the Summer Reading Program at Eddy-New Rockford Public Library. There are hundreds of books on the shelves to choose from, and there's a prize for every five books read this summer. Readers can also take advantage of the Libby app to access thousands more titles.

Kids who are unable to attend the Kick-off can register at the library anytime during its open hours, which are noon - 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.

In addition, all registered kids get entered into a drawing for a bike, which will be given away at the end of the summer.
