A glimpse of Sheyenne in 1913

This photo and postcard, provided to the Transcript by Stan Kruger, provide an interesting glimpse of the city of Sheyenne on Nov. 17, 1913.

The postcard was written by an individual named Anton Peterson, and sent to a Mr. James Olley in the state of Montana.

Kruger said he remembers Anton, also known as "Tony," being in Sheyenne from when he was in high school. Kruger graduated in 1956.

According to Kruger, Peterson was the general manager of the elevator in Sheyenne at the time the picture was taken

The postcard he wrote to Mr. Olley is a description of what's happening in the picture shown above.

The postcard and picture are from the 1867 Log Cabin Museum in Sheyenne.

Both items are located at the museum for anyone interested in viewing them.
