County still inundated with mounds of snow on first day of spring

The inhabitants of the Hartl farm and Hawkes Homestead northwest of New Rockford had a lot of digging out to do on the first day of spring. "Oh ... so this is probably why our mail and UPS deliveries are delayed. That's the north gravel road to town, with great pyrenees (Winston) for scale," Jessica Hawkes wrote on Sunday, March 19. The photo was taken on 62nd Avenue NE about 24 hours after yet another round of wintry weather had impacted the area.
