Bonnie Anderson

1956-2022

Bonnie E. Anderson was born on April 8, 1956, to Freddy and Gladys (Gjestvang) Carlson in New Rockford, N.D. She grew up on her family farm and graduated from New Rockford School. She married her high school sweetheart, Randy, on January 18, 1974. They made their first home in New Rockford and welcomed their daughters Kelly, Angela, and Amy. In 1980, they relocated to Phoenix, Ariz., where she worked in the banking industry. In 1988, the family moved to West Covina, Calif., and then to Aberdeen, S.D., in 1991. Bonnie was fortunate enough to be able to work alongside Randy for the last 20 years at their business, Nelson Sales & Service.

When she wasn't working in the office, she enjoyed lake time (being on the pontoon), baking, crafts, sewing, and surrounding herself with as much family as she could squeeze into a room. Gardening and landscaping were also passions of hers. Her backyard was something she was very proud of. Bonnie loved creating spaces to entertain and bring the family together. In the winter months, you would find her at every Northern State University basketball game, cheering alongside Randy. During the holidays, you could find her in the kitchen baking all of her famous treats (Magic Bars). If she wasn't in the kitchen, she was cuddled up watching Lifetime and Hallmark movies with any grandkids that were around. No matter whose birthday it was, Bonnie would always show up with a red cake and ice cream for all. Her big infectious smile could light up any room.

Grateful and blessed to have shared Bonnie's life are her husband, Randy Anderson; daughters: Kelly (Donald) Hahler of Chelsea, S.D.; Angela (Chad) Heier of Aberdeen, S.D. and Amy (Tom) Dalton of Pierre, S.D. Bonnie was also loved by nine grandchildren: Tyler (Dominic) Wollman, Madison (Favian) Aguirre, Wyatt Hahler, Reeselyn, Colton and Grisom Heier, Hunter Dalton, Reghan Chilson and Brooks Miller. Seven great-grandchildren also had her heart: Ashlyn, Makadyn, Kannon and Leightyn Wollman, Archer and Rafael Aguirre, and Taytum Williams. Bonnie also adored her four sisters, two brothers, two brothers-in-law and their families.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Freddy Carlson; father-in-law, Norman Anderson; sister-in-law, Anna Carlson, and brother-in-law, Richard Anderson.
