Chamber Matters: Nov. 7, 2022

The annual Santa Day in New Rockford is set for Saturday, Dec. 3. The annual carnival and Santa visit event will take place at the Brown Memorial from 2-4 p.m. The Rockford Theatre will show a movie matinee at 1 p.m.

The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help with the annual event. Here’s what you need to know:

No experience needed.

Santa hats provided.

Treats offered!

The commitment is only a few hours, and you'll have an opportunity to make Christmas fun for as many as 200 kids!

Here's what we need:

• Helpers for set up on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 1

• Game operators, ticket sellers and Santa's Store staff on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1:30-4 p.m.

• Cleaning/take-down help from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3

We appreciate the continued partnership and volunteerism of the New Rockford Lions Club. Without volunteers, this event would not happen.

As the holidays approach, the Chamber reminds locals that the electronic message boards on Hwy. 281 and in Centennial Park are available for rent. Messages are billed by the week, $10 per message per sign each week, or $5 for Chamber members. Not a Chamber member? Sign up for an annual membership now and reap the benefits for the rest of 2022 and all of 2023!

There is a modest cost for the placement of messages because the Chamber is responsible for ensuring that the signs are in operation. The signs are expensive to maintain and replace, and the modest fees charged are put in a savings account to cover necessary costs.
