Tagged it! 4-Hers take shooting skills afield

Each fall, the North Dakota Game & Fish offers a special youth season for hunters ages 11-15. It's a great opportunity for young hunters to gain experience before the frenzy of rifle season sets in.

For these young hunters, their practice in 4-H Shooting Sports paid off. Not only did they put meat on the table, they did so with confidence. These hunters overwhelmingly stated, "One shot was all it took."

The nine-and-a-half-day youth deer season is open to residents who are 11, 12 or 13 in 2022. Licensed youth hunters can hunt statewide for antlerless white-tailed deer.

Resident hunters who are 14 or 15 in 2022 can hunt statewide with a youth season license for any deer, except for antlered mule deer in units 3B1, 3B2, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E and 4F where a special license is required.

Each young deer hunter must be under direct supervision of an adult.
