Obituary: Myron Kuske

Myron Kuske

Jamestown, N.D.

Myron Wayne Kuske, 62, died at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo on August 8, 2022.

He was born on June 15, 1960 to Orval and Margaret (Gross) Kuske in New Rockford, N.D. They lived on a farm northeast of Carrington until the late 1960's when the family moved to Carrington where he attended grade school and completed high school in New Rockford.

He loved the farm life and being outdoors and in the fields with his dad. He also enjoyed ice fishing with his daughter and spending time in his garage (man cave). He was very particular about certain things, like how his lawn was mowed and how it looked - the lines had to be just so. Also, he was particular about his vehicles. In the past he did wood refinishing projects including a piano. His attention to detail was evident.

He married Elaine Hauf in Medina, N.D. on June 29, 1984 at the English Lutheran Church. They resided in Jamestown. They have one daughter, Paulina, and three grandchildren whom he loved.

Myron enjoyed his outdoor work when he was with Waste Management and Border States. Later he worked at Walmart but did not enjoy having to work indoors. He loved life and enjoying talking to people! He didn't know a stranger. In the last several years when his health was failing, he spent time watching TV and his favorite shows involved fishing and hunting, antique shows, fixer uppers and his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.

He is survived by his wife Elaine of Jamestown; daughter Paulina (Tory); grandchildren Bentley, Marley and Alice; his three sisters: Kathy (Raphael) Rodriguez of Jamestown, N.D.; Diane (Glenn) Schmidt of Overland Park, Kan.; and Debbie Smith of Edwardsville, Kan.; his nephew Zachary (Brittany) Smith and great nephew Benjamin Smith of Joplin, Mo.; his uncle Wesley Gross of Harvey, N.D. and special cousin, Michelle, as well as many more cousins and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Walter and Elsie Hauf, many cousins and an unborn child. He will be sorely missed by his family, extended family and friends.
