Oberon officials planning new city election

On Monday, August 1, the Oberon City Council discussed plans to hold a new election following allegations they mishandled the city’s municipal election on June 14.

Those allegations led to a contest being filed with the Northeast Judicial District, arguing the City of Oberon failed to give proper notice of election, failed to provide absentee ballots and illegally canvassed the results.
