Wuori, Davis among those to receive first ever Columbia Grain International scholarship

Columbia Grain International (CGI), a global leader in the origination, processing, logistics, and distribution of high quality bulk grains, pulses, edible beans, oilseeds and organics for the northern tier of the U.S., launched its first-ever Columbia Grain Annual Scholarship Program, established by President & CEO, Jeff Van Pevenage earlier this year. The scholarship was open to active CGI employees and their immediate family members (spouses and dependent children) and five winners were announced this month. It is one of many ways CGI cultivates growth to better not only its employees, but their families and communities.

"We value every member of Columbia Grain and support the growth of these individuals and their family members to foster continued learning whether it be in agriculture, agribusiness, or other educational pursuits," said CGI's President and CEO, Jeff Van Pevenage. "We're honored to award those whose dedication to hard work contributes not only to their own self enhancement, but to the betterment of their workplace and the communities they serve."

CGI is pleased to announce that Jaiden Wuori and Brady Davis, children of employees at the New Rockford plant, were among the recipients.

Wuori is the daughter of Jeff Knudson. She is pursuing a degree in teaching, communications, arts, literature and English at the University of Minnesota.

Davis is the son of Clark Davis, who also works in New Rockford. He is pursuing a commercial aviation degree at the University of North Dakota.

Gabes Kieffer, Zoey Conner and Hannah Sienkowski also received scholarships.

Recipients were selected based on academic achievements, financial need, and their personal qualities and strengths as attested to in their essay.
