B & B Racers brought their go kart track back to New Rockford on Sunday, July 3. With the New Rockford Lions Club and the New Rockford Chamber of Commerce sponsoring the go karts, each rider was able to ride for free. As seen in the picture, the line to the go-kart track in downtown New Rockford wasn't very short. A special thanks to both the New Rockford Lions Club and the New Rockford Chamber of Commerce!

To start off the weekend of fun, over 30 people participated in the Freedom 5K at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Denette Meehan and Carrie Cleveland were two of the many to complete the 5K. Kaleb Haley and his older brother, Mason, sped through to take first and second place for the adults, respectively. Lacey Grann followed behind just a couple minutes shy to take third. Gabe Smith took the top boy placing, and Leah Steele finished in the top girl place.

Miss Sheyenne Stampede 2022, Jozey Retzlaff, rode through both the New Rockford and Sheyenne parades on Independence Day.

Circle Trail Riders celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. They had quite the entourage in the New Rockford parade, with horse-drawn covered wagons and several horse riders. This wagon was driven by Cory Jorgensen, with his wife Katie and children Harrison, Charles and Rynna also pictured.

These kiddos rode along with members of the Sheyenne Fire Department during the Sheyenne parade and threw out candy.

On Sunday, the New Rockford Lions Club hosted their Brisket Benefit Dinner in Centennial Park. Colleen Semmens, Rick Swenson and Jennifer Ruppell were among those who served food. Arlene Holtz is seen chatting them up as she got her plate.

The New Rockford Fire Department lit up the sky with fireworks at dusk on Sunday, July 3. Gunner Wetzel and Kayahna Hopfauf were two of the many people to watch the fireworks over the James River.

The New Rockford Golf Course and Event Center hosted two golf tournaments over the Independence Day weekend; the Big Cup and the Red Ball tournaments. Lucas Schumacher (center) putts the ball in hopes of making the ball into the hole. Stephen Guler and Jake Bilden (behind L. Schumacher) watched closely.
