Carrington police chief to be buried Monday

Brandon Sola, Chief of Police for the Carrington Police Department (CPD), was killed Tuesday, June 28 while riding his motorcycle on I-94 near West Fargo.

Sola has served the CPD since November 2021, when he began working as chief. He leaves behind a wife, Rebecca, and five children.

The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.

A native of Velva, N.D., Sola's funeral service was held Saturday, July 9 at the Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva.

Sola, also a Master Sargeant with the North Dakota National Guard, will be buried in the Fargo National Cemetery on Monday, July 11 at 11 a.m.

His funeral procession will travel through Carrington shortly before 8 a.m. on Monday. Residents are urged to gather along U.S. Hwy. 281 as the police escort passes through Carrington from Hwy. 52 onto 281.
