Gloria Price Marcon

Front Royal, Va.

Gloria Price Marcon passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her home in Front Royal, Virginia.

She was born and raised in North Dakota to Arville and Lula Price and was the ninth of twelve siblings.

Gloria was a member of the New Rockford High School Class of 1945.

She moved to Washington, DC, in the '40s and had a diverse and full life. She was a great mom, a top-selling real estate agent, and owned and managed a consignment shop. At the age of 67, she acquired Gooney Creek Campground located in Front Royal, Virginia. For the next 20 years, she operated the campground mostly by herself until her health began to decline at age 87. She was fortunate that her oldest daughter, Pamela, was able to move to the campground and carry on her legacy of providing a serene, peaceful, and popular setting for campers to enjoy the Shenandoah-Skyline area.

She is survived by sisters Dora Schmidt, Jeanice Mehlhoff and brother Perry Price. Also surviving are her three children, Pamela, Jeffrey and Valerie; and two grandsons, Kyle and Cory.

She was loved and admired by all who knew her. Gloria was a force of nature and will be greatly missed.

A fireworks celebration of her life was held Saturday, July 2, 9 p.m., at Gooney Creek Campground, 7122 Stonewall Jackson Highway, Front Royal, Virginia.
