Perleberg, Jacobson elected to school board

On Tuesday, June 7, residents of the New Rockford-Sheyenne School District #2 cast their vote for who would sit on the NR-S school board.

The three-year terms of current board members Mike Jacobson and Alyson Myhre are due to expire this summer, and following Tuesday's election, one new face will be joining the board come July.

Jacobson, currently the board's vice president, filed for the same three-year position he already holds, and was successfully reelected having faced zero challengers.

Meanwhile, Myhre, a long-time board member and former board president, chose not to file for reelection.

Running to replace her was New Rockford resident and 2009 graduate of NR-S, Eric Perleberg, who also won the position having faced no challengers.

Perleberg's son, Easton, will be starting preschool this fall, and Perleberg says he's looking forward to helping improve the district for both his children and the community.

The election results will be canvassed at the school board's regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 20 at 7 p.m.
