One afternoon, Janet Laube called her sister, Janice Guilbault, of Yuma, Ariz., and had a good visit finding out Janice is happy and doing fine. Janet also called Jerry and Carol Clancy of Thompson and found out they are doing okay and were safe from the rising waters.

The following people were among those who took second birthday greetings to Grady Lewis at the Wonder Lanes Bowling Alley Saturday afternoon in New Rockford. Grandma Karen Koepplin, great-grandma Janelle Koepplin, great-grandpa Frederick and great-grandma Dianne Allmaras, Cory and Tammy Longnecker, Jamie and Kerstin Allmaras, Angie Hopfauf, and Aaron and Danielle Koepplin and family. All enjoyed a boat of fresh fruit and cheese with special cupcakes and watching Grady open his gifts during a farm theme dfun party. All enjoyed several games of bowling.

Shirley Packard has gotten a handy reading machine through Kristi Swenson and Mary Gehrtz of the New Rockford Lions Club. Paul Olson of the School of the Blind from Grand Forks delivered the machine, which will enlarge print to help Shirley read.

Eloise Lucht was in Devils Lake Tuesday for an appointment at the Eye Clinic. Later, she was a visitor at her sister’s Ardy and Glen Salisbury.

Thursday, Shirley Packard kept a medical appointment at the clinic in New Rockford. Friday, her son, Calvin, drove her to the ER in Carrington, where she went through some tests and was sent home with medication. She is doing okay.

Janet Laube and YipYip were happy to get several pictures of a new grand-nephew from his grandmother, Shelly Nelson, way down in Oklahoma. Shelly is the daughter of the late Harley and Betty Nelson.
