Jensen, Belquist add four state-qualifying events at Oakes meet

Kelsie Belquist leaps over a hurdle during the 100-meter hurdles event. Belquist placed first with a state-qualifying time of 15.23 seconds. Belquist has now qualified for state in seven events.
The New Rockford-Sheyenne track and field team traveled to Oakes on Monday, May 2, to attempt to secure state-qualifications at the Starion Track & Field Complex.
Among the 24 Rockets athletes to compete, two received state-qualifications. Those athletes were NR-S senior, Kaden Jensen, and NR-S sophomore, Kelsie Belquist.
