4-H Shooting Sports Update: April 11, 2022

On Wednesday, March 23, the 4-H outdoor and shooting sports club held a meeting at the 4-H barn on the Eddy County Fairgrounds. Club leader, Michael Brazil, introduced members to the different shooting positions - including standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone. Youth also practiced sight-alignment, picture-alignment, muscle relaxation, proper bone support, and breathing techniques. After this, we refreshed our skills by tying knots. There’s a lot to remember. So far we’ve learned the square knot, sheetbend knot, bowline knot, two half hitch knot, and the taut line knot.

The shooting sports club was scheduled to meet again on Wednesday, April 6. The planned activity was how to pack for a backpacking trip.
