Jacobson leads Rocket archers in Wilton

The Rocket archery team dominated in the high school division at the Wilton Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 12. The high school team finished first in both the girls and boys team divisions, bringing home trophies.

Six NR-S archers brought home individual medals from the bullseye division of the tournament. Seventh grader Layton Jacobson shot a 285, earning him first place in middle school boys and Top Overall Male Archer.

Four medalists were high school archers. Hunter Genre was first among the boys with a 280, and Jackson Brazil finished third with a 278. On the girls side, Kyria Dockter earned a silver medal with her 272, and Macey Wobbema finished in fourth place with a 268.

Fisher Genre was the only elementary archer to earn a medal. He finished first among elementary boys with a score of 264.

Other Rocket archers with top 10 finishes in their division at the Wilton bullseye tournament included Sawyer Huso (264), seventh in middle school boys; Bradyn Collier (263), ninth in high school boys; Tillie Swart (258), sixth in high school girls; Eli Alfstad (258), 10th in middle school boys; Andrea Owlboy (248), 10th in high school girls; and Raegyn Lange (171), 10th in elementary girls.

Layton Jacobson also wowed in the 3D tournament, bringing home first place in middle school boys division with a score of 279. He finished second among all boys in the tournament, behind sophomore Connor Cose of Mt. Pleasant School, who scored a 289.

Kyria Dockter and Macey Wobbema earned medals on the 3D side too, as Dockter earned first place among high school girls with a 277. Wobbema finished third with a 266. Teammate Emma Duda also finished in the top five, earning a fifth place medal with a score of 247.

Hunter and Fisher Genre were also among the medalists in the 3D division. Hunter earned a silver medal among high school boys with his 270, while Fisher brought home the gold in elementary boys with a 261.

Bradyn Collier earned a medal, fifth place among high school boys, with a 259.

Other Rocket archers who finished in the top 10 of their divisions were Jackson Brazil (256), sixth in high school boys; Sawyer Huso (255), seventh in middle school boys; Andrea Owlboy (244), seventh in high school girls; Tillie Swart (229), 10th in high school girls; Braylon Alfstad (207), ninth in elementary boys; and Taylin Jacobson (154), ninth in elementary girls.
