Donald A. Briss, 78, of McHenry, N.D. passed away on Feb. 7, 2022 at Ave Maria, Jamestown, N.D.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, N.D. Burial was held at the Mose Cemetery, rural McHenry, N.D. Rev. Jeff Kapelle officiated the service. Pallbearers were Adam Forness, Kennedy Briss, Chandler Forness, Wyatt Briss, Bryce Forness, Westin Scott and Tristan Scott. Honorary bearers were Samantha Briss, Shyanne Briss and Whitney Briss.

Don was born April 2, 1943, in rural Kensal, N.D. to Clarence and Ella (Walen) Briss. He had five siblings: Loren, Fred, Marvin, Carol and Avis.

Don enjoyed his childhood years growing up on a farmstead outside Glenfield, N.D., working side-by-side with his dad and three brothers. He attended country school through eighth grade and graduated from Binford High School.

On Aug. 10, 1963, he married Joann Renae Barclay. They began their married life living on his Dad's North farmstead in rural McHenry. Establishing a solid home base, they began raising their family of four; while enjoying the rolling hills, wide open space, raising cattle, milking cows and farming.

Don established Briss Trucking, and began a career in hauling cattle and small grains for many years, later turning the business over to his two sons.

After retiring from Trucking, Don worked as a Federal Crop Adjuster until retirement.

Don is survived by his wife and his children: Kim Briss-Scott, Millsap, Texas; Denise Briss-Forness, Wolverton, Minn. and Dion (Cathy) Briss, Jamestown, N.D.; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Miller and Avis (Orville) Pittenger; sister-in-law Elaine Briss; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest son Kaare and three brothers: Loren, Fred, and Marvin.
