Cards split with Firebirds, Packers in triangular dual

Class A opponents Devils Lake and West Fargo brought their teams to the East Gym Thursday night, Jan. 27, for a triangular dual with Carrington.

The Cards contested 12 matches to the Firebirds’ eight, and won a 60-12 victory. In the nightcap, CHS did well to stay with the Packers, but fell by three, 39-36.

Double winners in the dual were Trace Hoggarth (113), Matthew Duchscherer (126 and 132), Brecken Lura (138, pin and forfeit), Michael Clifton (182, pin and forfeit), and Callen Garber (195, pin and forfeit.)

In the West Fargo match, Clifton recorded a pin at 1:18 of the first round over Jacob Bild, representing his 200th career victory as a Cardinal wrestler.
