Virginia (Carr) Freeman, 88, of Carrington, N.D., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington, N.D. Burial was at the Carrington Cemetery. Father Terry Dodge officiated the service with special music by Marlene Boyer. Casket bearers were Thad Rosenau, Troy Rosenau, Tanner Timm, Titus Timm, Roger VandeHoven and Paul Straley. Honorary bearers were all of Virginia's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Virginia Louise Wolf was born on May 11, 1933 in Bordulac, N.D., to John and Margret (Rensch) Wolf. She was raised in Bordulac and attended school there. After graduation, she taught school at Melville, N.D. On Nov. 16, 1953, Virginia married J. Maurice Carr in Bordulac; there they lived on the farm and raised 10 children. Virginia enjoyed all aspects of farm life, including helping in the field and running for parts. Virginia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Women's Alter Society. J. Maurice Carr passed away on Nov. 22, 1993.

On Dec. 11, 2007, she married Art Freeman. They sold the farmstead in Bordulac and moved to Carrington in 2012. Virginia entered Golden Acres Manor on Nov. 28, 2014.

Virginia will be greatly missed by her husband, Art Freeman; loving children, Rett (Gary) Bata, Carrington, N.D.; Jean (Gary) Womble, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Robert Carr, Bordulac, N.D.; Clinton Carr, Carrington, N.D.; Linda (Brian) Duursma, Carrington, N.D.; Doug Carr, Woodville, Texas; and Keith (Alice) Carr, Fargo, N.D.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Andes, Parshall, N.D. and Amelia Neveras, Tacoma, Wash.; brother-in-laws, Don (Lydia) Carr, Carrington, N.D. and Virgil Barthel, Bordulac, N.D.; sister-in-law, Judy (Dick) Ziemba, Fargo, N.D.; step-children, John, Joe, Mike, Brian, Jim, Dennis Freeman and families; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Maurice Carr; sons, Andy, Charlie, and Jonathan; one great-grandson; numerous brothers and sisters; a brother-in law and several sisters-in-law.
