Marilyn L. Stenberg, age 86, longtime resident of Pekin, N.D., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, N.D.

Marilyn Louell Loe was born April 24, 1935 in Warwick, N.D. to Lloyd and Emma (Birkeland) Loe. Marilyn graduated from Sheyenne Public School in 1953. She married Dennis D. Stenberg on Nov. 7, 1953 in the Warwick Lutheran Church. Marilyn got her teaching certificate in Minot, N.D. and taught for several years in the Sheyenne and Oberon area. She also worked as a CNA at the McVille Hospital, owned her own upholstery business, and owned and operated the Rustic Greenhouses. Marilyn worked as the local Census Bureau Representative for over 25 years. She was active in the Pekin Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.

Marilyn was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise and Nancy; her husband of 52 years, Dennis; her grandson, Daniel Bogers; her great-granddaughter, Emma Jacobson; two sisters, Laurel and Betty; and three brothers, Emil "Spud", David, and Mike.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Jason Stenberg; three daughters, Nadine (David) Salwey, Melissa Stenberg, and Laurel (Dennis Allen) Bogers; along with seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Ellen Burthold; and one brother, Ervin Loe.

The funeral service for Marilyn was held at American Lutheran Church of Tolna, N.D., on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, N.D. Visitation was held at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
