In their natural state, poinsettias are a scraggly large shrub reaching 10 feet tall, but an innovative family of horticulturists helped transform the plant into the version we know today.

Poinsettias are a familiar sight during Christmas. While the plant originated in Central America, the modern history of the poinsettia has a distinctly American flare.
